POLICIES AND REGULATIONS FOR USE OF CHURCH FACILITIES

 1. Maywood Community Church and organizations within
the church will have priority in the use of all
church facilities, regardless of requests for use
by persons or organizations outside Maywood
Community Church, provided, however, that in the event
an organization outside of Maywood Community Church
has duly arranged for use of Church facilities, that
arrangement shall stand over a subsequent request
for use of the same facilities by an organizaton
     within Maywood Community Church.

 2. A Church calendar shall be maintained upon which
shall be shown all scheduled events, so that avail-
ability of church properties may be ascertained at
     all times.

 3. We ask that there be no abuse of these facilities.
Facilities will be returned to their original order
     after the event.

MEMORIAL GIFTS POLICIES

Memorial gifts may be given in a number of ways:

1) Designated giving-which goes for something specific
designated by the family or friends.

2) Undesignated-this is recorded as the others in the
Memorial Book but goes into the regular Church account
   to meet normal expense.

3) Building Fund.

Each gift will be recorded in the Memorial Book and no
plaques will bre placed on the furnishing donated unless
   requested by the donor(s).

Alist of items which can be used in the Church will be
kept by the Memorial Book committee and can be referred
to by those who want to give for something specific.
Items can be added to this list by the suggestion of any
   member.

PASTOR'S POLICY CONCERNING WEDDINGS

The Church can provide a needed ministry in helping to
prepare couples for marriage. Those who inquire con-
cerning a wedding ceremony at Maywood will be asked to
become engaged in a program of careful preparation for
marriage.

Both members and non-members are asked to do the following:

(1)
Give the pastor at least 60 dayes notice before the date of the ceremony.
(2)
Agree to have at least two sessions of pre-marital guidance before this date. Non-members are also asked to give a donation of an unspecified amount for the use of the church building. Both members and non-members are asked to leave a fee for the janitor due to the extra cleaning done. The Church organist or pianist should be a private arrange- ment and arranged in advance. Weddings are part of the Church's ministry and thus the pastor performs them as part of his calling requiring no fee. The pastor reserves the right to refuse to marry those whom, in good conscience, he prefers not to marry.
LADIES' COUNCIL

The Ladies' Council was organized March 16, 1938 as an
organization of Christian women dedicated to the spiritual,
financial and physical support of Maywood Community
Church.
YOUTH GROUPS

Within Maywood Church we have two youth groups, the
junior youth group consisting of grades 6, 7, and 8 and
the senior youth group. We strive to present the follow-
ing ten goals for a scriptural approach to youth ministry:
 1. To help youth find a personal commitment to Jesus
     Chirst as Lord and Savior.
 2. To help youth become disciples and lead thm into the
spriitual experience which in turn progresses into
     mature discipleship.
 3. To challenge youth to express in speech and action
God's love as it is revealed in Jesus Christ.
 4. To lead youth to read and respond to the Bible in a
personal way and to train them in a serious con-
frontation with the Word of God.
 5. To help youth gain skill in prayer and meditation
and to pioneer a personal devotional life.
 6. To help young people develop a life style based on
     the gospel of Jesus Christ.
 7. To help youth recognize the Church as Christ's body
     and nurture identification with it.
 8. To confront youth with their responsibility and re-
lationship to their community, their country and
     their world.
 9. To support youth in understanding relationships with
parents and family and to help them develop a capa-
city for respect and intimacy in the home.
10. To help youth understand and accept themselves and
gain competence in dealing with personal problems
     of identity and vocation.

By stressing these 10 goals, we will help the youth of
Maywood today become the leaders of our Church tomorrow.
